Kia ora Larry, Happy Birthday mate! I know Wilco will be amazing, as we have discussed already, Tweedy is a great American songwriter, on par with the best. I am listening to Sky Blue Sky as I write this. I went to one concert with you Larry, in Minneapolis we saw Tom Waits at the old downtown theatre, now long gone but a great venue. He meandered on stage which was set up like an inner city apartment, opened the fridge which contained 1 Budweiser, opened it and sat down by the mike and started talking, then the band appeared behind him. Frank's Wild Years if memory serves, and a great show. Another maestro. Good music is another aspect of things that originally connected us, and still does. That is cool. So have a marvelous day LPH, and I raise a toast over here in the southern hemisphere in your honour. Rave on! Kia kaha! Aroha, Robb
Your mind is good. I too remember the Tom Waits show, but not quite to the details that you do. I do remember being absolutely stunned at his showmanship. Recently I saw a concert video of Waits on the television.
Wilco was on there game last night! Played for 2.75 hours and put on a powerhouse performance. Wilco is aging very well.
One piece of advice: when you are 50 don't try to party like you are 30. I paid for it all day today.
